Here at the "Blue" Church, Hawaiian tradition required all married females to take a vow of silence for one year in order to increase their natural abilities to harkin to the sweet melodic voice of their husbands. Husbands were to help their wives return to the "Blue" Church each year to renew their vows.
While returning once a year was a very difficult and arduous task, the vast majority of husbands, as a loving gesture to their wives, gladly took this difficult task to heart and made the annual pilgramage back to the "Blue" Church to help the wife fulfill her self improvement quest.
Me, trying to be a good and loving husband, have brought my wife here so she can take the vow.
Tradition holds that the very evening of the day the wife takes or renews her vow of silence, the husband will, (obviously in a selfless act of support) paint a portion of the church "Blue" all the while chanting for hours in a solemn or woeful durge-like sound "I'm so blue!"
I wish I could have been more supportive to Liz in helping her keep her vow of silence, but I failed somehow and her vow only lasted about 1.4 minutes....... I'm so blue.
I suspect Liz may have a change of heart and renew her vow for a longer period after she reads this entry.
I'm going to need LOTS of blue paint!
Here is Liz with a couple of the locals from the "place of Refuge." The one behind her left shoulder is still laughing at the blonde joke she told them a couple of minutes ago. The one on Liz's right is crying because Liz mentioned she needs to leave soon, to go see some kind of donkey.
After we left the place of refuge, we came to this poppy type farm. Here are the leaves and opie pods which we were told were highly valued by some people. I didn't see any donkeys but Liz said she made arrangements with the plantaion owner to pretend to be some type of mule. Liz did mention after the conversation that we wouldn't need to worry about paying for our airfare home. Wahoo, a free airline ticket home. Liz said we only have to "act natural" while we're in the HI and CA airports.
I tried to find a "like" button. There isn't one. Maybe that's someplace else! Oh I'm so blue....
